About State of the Art Physical Therapy (SOTA)
State of the Art Physical Therapy is an independently owned and operated outpatient Physical Therapy clinic that is new to the Ashburn area (since March 2008). Our director/owner, Arthur C. Bronsord, has been a Physical Therapist for over 20 years. Under Art’s experienced direction, our team of therapists and assistants aim to provide superior outpatient Physical Therapy care to our patients. Our objective is to restore, rebuild, and renew your body to its peak performance. We welcome patients of all ability levels, ages and backgrounds. We have over 5,000 square feet of space including both private treatments rooms as well as an expansive gym facility. We aspire to create a comfortable environment for our patients to achieve their maximum rehabilitation potential.
Your First Visit
What to Wear?
- Upper extremity injuries: T-shirt or sleeveless shirt
- Lower extremity injuries: Shorts, tennis shoes (bring orthotics with you if you currently own them)
- Lower back: T-shirt, exercise pants or shorts
- Upper back/neck: Tank top/sports bra or blouse with "boat neck" (women); T-shirt (Men)
- All other conditions: Please wear clothing that you can comfortably move and exercise in
What to Expect?
A therapist will perform a PT evaluation comprised of an interview to review relevant medical history, mechanism of injury, and lifestyle. The interview will be followed by a physical assessment which will include objective measurements specific to your injury or condition. Your therapist may also perform some form of intervention at your first PT session. Interventions will differ for individual patients, but may include: Modalities (ultrasound, electrical stimulation, hot packs, cold packs, iontophoresis, mechanical traction, phonophoresis, etc), soft tissue mobilization, stretching, range of motion exercises, joint mobilization, muscle energy techniques, home exercise programs, or education.
